Celebrate fall in Kansas City at these 11 area pumpkin patches

As the days get shorter in the Kansas City area, it’s time to light up the night with a jack-o’-lantern.

While you can find pumpkins to carve at a grocery store or local stand, some like to make a day out of the process at a pumpkin patch.

From Louisburg to Weston and Lawrence to Liberty, there are pumpkin patches for all interests and price points.

Kids can climb on hay bales or pet farm animals, while adults can sample hard cider or stroll through a nighttime lantern walk. And many pumpkin patches sell classic fall food like cider donuts and fresh apples.

Some offer pre-season sales only available to those who book tickets before the patch opens. If the weather looks iffy, find the farm on Facebook for the most up-to-date information.

But there is some sad news for pumpkin patch fans this season. The Pumpkin Pad in Lone Jack closed and the land is for sale.

Here are 11 pumpkin patches around the Kansas City area, on both sides of the state line. If you can’t see the map below, click here.
