Olathe girl seriously injured after boat accident at Table Rock Lake

An 11-year old girl from Olathe sustained serious injuries while swimming in Table Rock Lake Saturday.

The girl was on a pontoon boat just south of Branson West, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. She jumped off of the boat to help another swimmer and was struck by a propeller or water jet on the pontoon, the report said.

The girl was transported by air care to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. An update on her condition was not available Monday morning.

This marks the 14th incident involving injury at Table Rock Lake in the past year, according to the Missouri State Highway patrol. There have also been four fatal incidents.
