Wayside Waifs welcomes Kansas City area visitors without an appointment. For this week, the shelter is offering $25 adoptions through Aug. 24.

This handsome guy is Sly-Vester! He is a dashing tuxedo boy with a heart full of love and a serious sense of adventure.
Life is one big playground to him, and he is always ready to explore it! Whether it’s a new room or a cardboard box fort, Sly is all in.
But don’t let his explorer side fool you, he is just as much a lover as he is an adventurer. Sly is a super friendly, social guy who adores cuddling up with his humans. He has a lot of love to give and is not shy about asking for affection.

Hope Anne, a 1-year-old Labrador retriever
Meet Hope Anne — a bouncy, lovable black Lab mix with a heart full of joy and a tail that just won’t quit.
She’s learning all sorts of awesome things like basic commands and how to walk nicely on a leash. Hope Anne is a smart girl who’s eager to learn, especially if treats and praise are involved. She absolutely loves people and wants to be with them as much as possible; she would make a great adventure buddy for an active family.
One of her absolute must-haves is another playful dog friend in the home. She’s got energy to burn and having a four-legged buddy helps her release it in all the right ways. She will need to meet any resident dogs beforehand to make sure they are a good fit, and she also needs to meet the whole human family too, just to be sure everyone is comfortable and happy.
