Wyandotte deputies find man dead, after called to KCK park for welfare check

Wyandotte County sheriff’s investigators are looking into the death of a man whose body was found in a Kansas City, Kansas, park Sunday night.

Deputies were called to Northrup Park on a welfare check. When they arrived around 5:45 p.m., they found a man who was unresponsive, said Grace Jacobs, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office.

They attempted to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead by medical first responders.

The sheriff’s office said it was asking anyone with information about the death to contact the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
