Woman killed in rollover wreck that closed I-70 near Oak Grove
One person was killed when a car and truck collided on Interstate 70 between Oak Grove and Grain Valley Wednesday, according to a crash report.
A 2022 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a 2010 Toyota Scion were driving east on I-70 near mile marker 25.4 around 4:30 p.m. when the Toyota struck the truck, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash log.
The Toyota then drove off the left side of the road into the median and overturned, ejecting the driver. The car came to rest in the westbound lanes of I-70, the highway patrol said.
Paramedics pronounced the driver of the Toyota, a 55-year-old female, dead at the scene. Two passengers, both female juveniles, were transported to a hospital with minor injuries, the highway patrol said.
A 58-year-old driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the crash, according to the crash log.
All lanes of I-70 were closed at Oak Grove for a little over two hours while crews worked to clear the wreck. At around 7:30 p.m., all lanes of traffic reopened.
An investigation is ongoing while troopers work to determine what led to the crash.
