People are allowed to return to an Oak Grove neighborhood after a semi truck hauling fuel overturned Wednesday night, forcing an evacuation notice, police said.

Residents of Oak Grove were notified that a semi overturned on Southwest 15th Street. Broadway and Southwest Clinton Streets were shut down between 14th Street and 18th Street while crews worked to clean up the wreck.

Residents were advised to avoid the area for several hours. In a post on social media just before 2 a.m., the Oak Grove Police Department said residents of the affected area could safely return.

“The roadway has been reopened and it is safe to go back into the area that was previously closed off,” the post read.

First responders, including some from the Sni Valley Fire Protection District, worked together to clear the area, police said on social media.
