John’s Big Deck — a popular downtown Kansas City bar — is for sale.

The three-story business is listed for sale by Realtor Ben Hassine for $3.7 million.

John’s Big Deck (928 W. Wyandotte St.) was previously owned by Krown Concepts, a company that owned now-closed bars on 39th Street, The Drunken Worm and MO Brew. It also owns The Levee and Incline on 9th, as last reported in October.

Chad Sander, owner of Krown Concepts, told The Star via Facebook Messenger that Krown quietly sold it “around the holidays last year” but did not comment further. Hassine later told The Star it was an internal sale.

The new owner could not be confirmed Monday afternoon.

John’s Big Deck briefly closed at the beginning of the year but reopened in late February.

The listing for the 8,000 square-foot building advertises it as “an exceptional opportunity to acquire both the thriving business and valuable real estate of John’s Big Deck.” It lists its annual sales as $3 to $3.5 million.

Operating since 1983, John’s Big Deck serves tacos, sliders and more than two dozen beers on tap, according to its website.

It’s open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
