Motorcyclist dead after a two vehicle crash near I-670 and Highway 71 in KC

One person is dead after a two vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in Kansas City Saturday night.

A person in a red, white and blue Honda Africa Twin motorcycle was headed east around 11 p.m. near Interstate 670 and Highway 71 when they struck the right passenger side of a blue Dodge Charger, according to Officer Alayna Gonzalez, spokesperson with the Kansas City Police Department.

The motorcyclist was changing lanes trying to take the I-29 and I-35 entrance ramp from I-670 at the time of the crash, and the Dodge Charger that was traveling eastbound on I-670.

The motorcyclist was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. No one in the Dodge Charger were injured, according to Gonzalez.

This marks the 44th fatality this year compared to 52 this time last year, according to data tracked by the police department. The investigation is ongoing.
