Family wanted: Teen hopes for parents to cheer him on as he chases his dreams

Derek is a bright and curious kid who dreams of becoming a scientist one day. He’s always asking questions, exploring how things work and loves diving into experiments.

When he’s not learning about the world around him, 13-year-old Derek enjoys gaming, especially if he’s with his friends. What he hopes for most is to find an adoptive family that will accept him as he is and see his heart, his potential and all the amazing things he has to offer.

As he grows into his teenage years, he’s looking for a family that can guide him with patience, love and encouragement. He wants a “just right” family that goes the extra mile to make sure he’s supported and understood.

Derek also hopes for a family with whom he can chase his dreams knowing that they’ll always be cheering him on. At this time, Derek’s case team is willing to consider families residing within the state of Kansas or with close proximity to the state of Kansas.
