The patience of drivers in Kansas City area’s Northland will be tested in the coming weeks as bridge repairs will close a popular way people move between Clay and Platte counties.

Beginning Sunday, the ramp from southbound Interstate 35 onto northbound Interstate 29 will close while crews make bridge repairs to the ramp.

The ramp will be until Sept. 18.

Crews will also close the ramp from southbound I-35/I-29 to Parvin Road during the same. One lane on northbound I-29 will close as crews repair the bridge over Davidson Road.

During the repairs, southbound I-35 traffic headed to northbound I-29 will detour south to Level Road in North Kansas City and then north onto I-29.

Drivers can also use Missouri 152, Interstate 435 and Missouri 210 as alternative routes.

The work is part of the bridge improvements underway along the I-29 corridor in Platte County. The project includes the rehabilitation of 12 bridges.
