Fatal crash in Independence leaves one dead, two injured
One person is dead following a fatal crash involving three vehicles in Independence on Friday, according to a news release from Independence Police Department Sgt. Jeff Buck.
A 2008 Nissan Pathfinder was southbound near the intersection of 291 Highway and Gudgell Road when it struck a 2019 GMC Acadia, according to the news release.
The Acadia then struck a 2009 Honda Civic, according to the release. The driver of the Pathfinder was declared dead just before 2 p.m.
The other two drivers were taken to hospitals with unspecified injuries, according to the release.
The crash remains under investigation.
