More details have been released about the arrest of a St. Joseph man who allegedly threatened students and staff at William Jewell College.

Jacob A. Raczkowski, 25, faces a first-degree terroristic threat charge, according to a news release from Liberty Police Department Capt. Matt Kellogg.

At 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Liberty communications officers received a call from a man claiming to go by the name “Paul Sanchez,” according to a Clay County probable cause statement for Raczkowski’s arrest.

The man was later identified as Raczkowski after officers traced his phone number, according to the probable cause statement.

Over the phone, Raczkowski “expressed frustration with getting kicked out of college,” according to the probable cause statement. He told officers that William Jewell College had “ruined his life and he would do everything possible to seek revenge.

“Even if it means shooting up the school when students come back,” according to the probable cause statement.

When officers asked if Raczkowski was at the school during the phone call, he told them he was, according to the probable cause statement.

Raczkowski encouraged officers to arrive at the college, as he was going to “kick someone’s ass” and “kill somebody,” according to the probable cause statement.

The incident was not Raczkowki’s first brush with law enforcement, according to the probable cause statement. The man was known to both Liberty police and the college. He was expelled and trespassed from the college on Dec. 16, 2024.

Raczkowski is a former member of the William Jewell football team, according to a picture posted to his Hudl profile. However, he is not listed on any current or previous William Jewell football rosters.

He graduated from Bishop LeBlond High School in St. Joseph in 2018, according to a recruiting profile.

He is being held on a $100,000 bond, according to a news release. No further court hearings are set.

The William Jewell College football program did not respond to The Star’s request for comment.
