‘Cutting-edge global concert’ is coming to Kansas City. Tickets on sale soon
The newest live orchestra performance coming to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts showcases some of the best musical scores in gaming of the last 15 years, bringing fans right into the middle of some of their favorite levels and scenes.
PlayStation: The Concert has toured around the world, and now fans in Kansas City of games like God of War and The Last of Us, can hear these soundtracks like never before, with multi-layered visuals involving LED and projection technologies, immersive surround sound, and an ensemble of classical and modern instruments.
Sony and PlayStation say their production will transform the stage inside the Muriel Kauffman Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 30, into the images you would see on your television screens or monitors. The stories of characters like Kratos (God of War), Joel Miller and Ellie Williams (The Last of Us), Nathan Drake (Uncharted), Jin Sakai (Ghost of Tsushima) are broadcast on stage, guiding guests through the character’s struggles and sacrifices.
“This extraordinary live experience promises to take you on a journey through some of the most famous games in gaming history, alongside a troupe of soloists, advanced projections sound and multi-layered visuals like you’ve never seen before,” Kauffman Center CEO Paul Schafer said in a statement.
Other video games featured in what Schafer called a “cutting-edge global concert” include: Horizon: Zero Dawn, Astro Bot, Journey, Helldivers II and Bloodborne.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, on the Kauffman Center’s website or by calling 816-994-7222. Guests under the age of 18 will need to attend with an adult, since some of the games featured are rated M by the Entertainment Software Rating Board, according to PlayStation.
