A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle on Missouri 210 highway in Kansas City on Tuesday.

Officers responded around 9:30 pm. to Missouri 210 Highway and North Kimball Drive on a reported crash involving a pedestrian.

A preliminary investigation into the crash showed that the pedestrian was allegedly walking west in the second lane of MO 210 highway, just east of North Kimball. A gray Chevrolet Trax traveled west on 210 Highway and struck the pedestrian, according to a police crash log.

Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a hospital with critical injuries, the crash log said. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured in the collision.

The Chevrolet driver stopped immediately, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Wednesday morning, the pedestrian was recovering from serious injuries in a hospital. Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
