These Kansas City area grocery store chains will close for Memorial Day 2025
If you run out of hot dog buns or sunscreen for Memorial Day, a few Kansas City area grocery stores will be open May 26, 2025.
Various grocery stores will be open Monday on both the Missouri and Kansas sides, including Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs and Lenexa.
In addition to fireworks and tributes to veterans, you can enjoy a patriotic performance by the Kansas City Symphony at Union Station’s Celebration at the Station on Sunday and baseball with even more wackiness at the Savannah Bananas game at Kauffman Stadium on Saturday.
But rain in the Memorial Day weekend forecast could put a damper on holiday activities planned throughout the metro.
These grocery store chains will have different hours on Memorial Day:
Costco is closed
Aldi closes at 6 p.m.
Sam’s Club closes at 6 p.m.
These grocery stores in the Kansas City area will have their regular hours May 26. Some departments, like their delis and pharmacies, might be closed or operating on reduced schedules, so check with the store for exact hours.
