Can you watch Celebration at the Station on TV? What to know for KC residents
One of the biggest events at Union Station is happening on Sunday, May 25, and Kansas Citians who can’t attend will be able to watch it from the comfort of their homes.
Music and fireworks are on full display at Celebration at the Station, the annual free concert that defines Memorial Day weekend in Kansas City. More than 50,000 people are expected to crowd the north lawn in front of Union Station for the tribute to those who have died in service to the country.
Pre-concert performances start at 5 p.m., and the concert performed by the Kansas City Symphony concert starts at 8 p.m. with fireworks to follow at 9:30 p.m.
How to watch Celebration at the Station on TV
Residents who won’t be able to watch the show in person can watch it on TV or online. Kansas City PBS will broadcast the symphony’s concert live at 8 p.m. with a rebroadcast scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, May 26.
Viewers can also stream it from their mobile devices or laptop on Kansas City PBS’ website. The online schedule says the preshow begins at 7:30 p.m., and its online streaming schedule says the performance will stream online from 8 to 10 p.m. Sunday. The show will also rebroadcast on the streaming platform at 7 p.m. Monday.
The broadcasts will not show the pre-concert performances from local jazz ensemble A La Mode or U.S. Air Force music group Roots in Blue.
