Independence police investigate killing after man found shot in driveway
Independence police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Tuesday night in the 1600 block of North High Street.
The department said in a social media post Wednesday morning that officers were called to the street, near Christian Ott Elementary School, just before midnight and found a man with gunshot wounds in a driveway.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
The department said no one was in custody. Investigators believe the killing was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the general public, the post said.
A spokesman for the Independence Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for additional information about the incident Wednesday afternoon.
