Update: The victim has been identified as Morgan William, 20.

A shooting outside an apartment building killed one in Kansas City Saturday night.

Police were called around 8 p.m. to the 9300 block of Cleveland Avenue where they found 20-year-old Morgan William suffering from gunshot wounds. William was transported to the hospital where he died shortly after, according to Sgt. Philip DiMartino, spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department.

No one is in custody at this point, but the case is being investigated as a homicide. Police said they believe there was an argument in the apartment’s parking lot that led to shots being fired and the William being struck.

Detectives canvassed the complex for witnesses and surveillance footage, according to DiMartino.
