Kansas Citians won’t have to go far for a trip to Margaritaville when a new resort-style hotel opens this summer.

The new island-inspired Margaritaville Hotel in Kansas City, Kansas is set to open in June 2025, and bookings are now available for dates starting in August, according to a news release. An exact opening date is to be announced.

The hotel, just east of the Kansas Speedway and Legends Outlet Mall on the other side of Interstate 435 at 1491 North 98th Terrace, will have 228 rooms, including 11 suites, alongside dining and bar options, indoor and outdoor pools and 13,000 square feet of event space for weddings, meetings and various celebrations.

The hotel’s most spacious suite is named after Jimmy Buffett himself. Missouri and Kansas residents qualify for 15% off a stay.

The development team includes Greg Maday, Trey Bowen and Mathew Bowen of the Homefield KC ownership group and Sunfield Development Group.

In a statement, Maday said the new resort is “an exciting milestone for us and for the community” that will bring a “one-of-a-kind experience that brings a fun, laid-back vibe to the region.”

Other amenities include a fitness center, a family entertainment center and a rock climbing wall and obstacle course in the indoor pool area. There will be accommodations for pets, self or valet parking and bus parking.

The Margaritaville resort brand has several locations across the United States and the Americas. In the Midwest, Osage Beach has a Margaritaville resort near the Lake of the Ozarks.

Announced large new projects near Legends include a Mattel Adventure Park with a Barbie beach house and a new outpost for Buc-ee’s, the massive beaver-themed travel center.
