Clay County sheriff’s officers announced Cheyanne McCaslin, 15, was located safe Wednesday afternoon

Clay County sheriff’s officers are seeking the public’s help in locating a student who never made it to a Liberty middle school Tuesday.

McCaslin was last seen in a neighborhood near her home around 6:47 a.m. It was initially reported she boarded her school bus in the 100 block of Johnson Road, but new information from officials clarified she was seen walking no where near her bus stop in Glenaire, Missouri.

McCaslin never made it to class, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say McCaslin was seen around the same time many students were boarding the bus in an adjacent neighborhood to hers.

She was last seen in surveillance footage wearing black shorts, a gray hooded sweatshirt with a Liberty Blue Jay logo and a black backpack with sunflowers. She is 4’11 and around 115 pounds, wears glasses and has long light brown hair.

Officials say her phone was left at home.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Clay County Sheriff’s Office 816-407-3700.
