Update: The child has been reunited with his family, according to police.

The Kansas City Police Department is searching for the parents or guardians of a young boy who was found alone in the city Monday night.

Officers picked up a child answering to Dylan in the Lykins neighborhood of east Kansas City around 6 p.m., near the intersection of Independence and Drury avenues, according to a KCPD spokesperson.

Dylan is white with brown eyes and curly brown hair. He stands 4 feet, 3 inches tall and was picked up wearing a blue Lego button-down shirt and teal pants. Officers believe he is about 5 years old.

Residents who believe they know Dylan or his family are asked to call 911 or contact the KCPD juvenile unit at 816-234-5150.
