A 21-year-old Kansas City man died after he was thrown from a motorcycle in a crash in Raytown Sunday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

The highway patrol said the man’s 2023 Honda motorcycle was headed east on East 63rd Street near the intersection with Ralston Avenue when it hit a 1997 Chevrolet vehicle going west around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

No injuries to the driver of the Chevrolet were reported.

Cpl. J.D. Howard, a spokesman for the highway patrol, said the motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of the Chevrolet when it made a left turn.

“The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation, as it takes time to fully collect applicable evidence to compile a comprehensive report of the incident,” Howard said. “With that in mind, there has not been a determination of whether charges will be sought for the other driver.”

Howard declined to release the identity of the man who died, citing a highway patrol policy that went into effect in November barring the release of names of people involved in crashes.
