This longtime Kansas City meteorologist is back on airwaves — for now
A local news station is bringing a fan favorite back to KC airwaves for the next three months.
Kansas City’s NBC affiliate, KSHB, teased the return of longtime meteorologist Gary Lezak, and on Monday, April 7, he briefly returned to television screens across the metro to share that he’s coming out of retirement for the next 12 weeks.
His official return starts at 4:30 a.m. April 14, and he’s filling in for meteorologist Lindsey Anderson, who’s on maternity leave. KSHB said on the April 7 newscast that he’ll be giving the weather news live from his home in Colorado on weekdays. He’ll join the news over Zoom during the morning shows from 4:30 to 7 a.m.
Lezak has been reporting on Kansas City weather news on his social media accounts recently and said he is excited to wake up with Kansas City every weekday morning
“Kansas City, I’m coming back, and I’ll see you here soon,” Lezak said.
Fans of the meteorologist shared their excitement on KSHB’s and Lezak’s Facebook pages.
