Leavenworth police investigating 3-year-old’s death at apartment complex
Leavenworth police are investigating the death of a 3-year-old boy at an apartment complex after responding to a call early Wednesday morning.
Officers were called to Woodland Village Apartments at approximately 4:28 a.m. for a medical call, according to Leavenworth Police Chief Pat Kitchens. Officers and paramedics attempted life-saving measureson the child, but were unsuccessful, Kitchens said.
No charges or arrests have been made as the case remains under investigation. An autopsy is expected to be performed this weekend, Kitchens said.
Police are also investigating an alleged assault that happened at the complex on Thursday evening. Authorities are reviewing whether the assault was related to the death of the child.
