Kansas City firefighters fought a heavy fire in a maintenance building Wednesday.

The Kansas City Fire Department was called around 7:20 p.m. to a Suburban Lawn and Garden maintenance building near 138th and Wyandotte where heavy fire was reported, according to battalion chief Michael Hopkins.

Several tanks containing various fuels caused secondary explosions in the building. The fire was put under control, but firefighters were still working to put out hot spots Wednesday night, Hopkins said.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
