Two men were found dead in an Excelsior Springs home Wednesday night during a welfare check, according to the Excelsior Springs Police Department.

Officers responded to a home in the 200 block of Woods Avenue around 8:40 after one of the residents’ family members called 911 to request a welfare check, police shared Thursday on social media.

When officers arrived, they did not encounter any chaos, but forced their way into the home on the family member’s request, the department wrote. Once inside, officers found two adult men unresponsive. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers believe the men died of “unnatural causes” and that both deaths resulted from an isolated incident, police wrote Thursday. They are not currently searching for any suspects or persons of interest.

The two deceased men have not been publicly identified, as police work to contact their other relatives, the department wrote.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
