One man died after he was pinned under a vehicle at a construction site on Saturday, according to police.

Officers with the Kansas City Kansas Police Department responded around 9:40 a.m. to the 11600 block of State Avenue for a fatal crash, according to a news release. At a private construction site, they found a man pinned under an overturned four-wheel drive vehicle.

Firefighters and officers worked to render aid to the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The initial investigation indicates the man attempted to drive up a mound of dirt on the construction site when he lost control and flipped the vehicle, the news release said. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Police did not yet release man’s name.
