A Kansas City woman was killed in a four-vehicle crash that spanned both directions of Interstate 70 in Leavenworth County on Friday evening, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.

The crash, which happened around 5 p.m. near the Leavenworth-Wyandotte county line, was set off when a Nissan Altima headed east on the interstate drifted into an Isuzu vehicle headed the same direction, according to a highway patrol crash report. The driver of the Isuzu lost control of his vehicle and it went over the median wall and smashed into an Acura ILX that was headed west.

After that collision, the Isuzu rolled and struck another westbound vehicle, an Infiniti QX50.

A passenger in the Infiniti, identified as 50-year-old Lili McCann, of Kansas City, died in the crash, the highway patrol said. The driver of that vehicle, a 54-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with a suspected serious injury.

The driver of the Isuzu, a 53-year-old man, also had a suspected serious injury and was taken to a hospital.

The driver of the Altima, a 17-year-old girl, was taken to a hospital for a suspected minor injury. Two other teenagers and a child under a year old who were in the vehicle had no apparent injuries, the patrol said.

The driver of the Acura, a 63-year-old man, also had no apparent injuries.
