The Kansas City region is once again bracing for snow.

Snow is expected overnight Monday into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible tonight, with new accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible on Tuesday, followed by the potential for an additional 1 to 2 inches Tuesday night.

Temperatures will be frigid. The NWS forecasts a high near 20 degrees on Monday, with a low overnight of 2 degrees. Wind chills on Tuesday could reach up to -15 degrees.

The weather is expected to move out by Wednesday. The NWS forecasts partly sunny conditions that day, though temperatures will likely remain in the single digits.

The anticipated snowfall comes after the Kansas City region has already experienced multiple rounds of winter storms this season. Last week the metro received 2 to 4 inches of snow.
