Oh, so this is why the Kansas City Chiefs lost the Super Bowl?

Because a supposed Eagles fan at the game in New Orleans stabbed a pin into a Patrick Mahomes voodoo doll?

A viral video shows a woman at the game, wearing Eagles green, with a tiny doll hanging from her neck. The doll conjures Mahomes, so to speak, in a white No. 15 jersey as the woman rocks back and forth in her seat, jabbing, jabbing, jabbing tiny Patrick in the heart.

“I noticed he looked pale and not well. I thought it was stress,” commented one X user who linked the doll to the Chiefs’ poor performance.

Oh the reactions. Thousands since Monday have littered Instagram, X, TikTok and Reddit. Some people think the video is funny. But mostly people are freaked out by it, even non-Chiefs fans, probably because people usually conflate voodoo with black magic.

Many sound like this X user: “idk. i don’t like Patrick Mahomes either, but that voodoo doll video makes me extremely uncomfortable.”

“This is witchcraft,” declared Kansas City influencer KC Lifestyle Girl, demanding on Instagram that “the @nfl needs to ban this witchcraft woman from future games!! This is dangerous!!”

Other fans are laughing at the thought that the thus-far unidentified woman messed with the outcome of the game.

Those juju vibes were oh so strong in New Orleans, weren’t they?

Mahomes himself paid homage to the Crescent City’s unique culture with the lining of the custom suit he wore to the game.

His tailor, Richards Bespoke in Nashville, made the lining from fabric printed with a repeating pattern of Mardi Gras skulls.

Interpret that as you want because we know you will.

Actually, that skull is part of the costume worn by the city’s legendary North Side Skull and Bone Gang. Members dress up as skeletons on Mardi Gras morning and knock on doors to remind people to live life to the fullest before it’s too late.

And here’s more juju.

For years, the group’s leader has been New Orleans musician Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes, who just happened to have a brief career in the NFL. In fact, according to his bio he played one season.

For the Kansas City Chiefs.

This is him before the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Stick a pin in that.
