The Skating Club of Boston in Norwood, Massachusetts, confirmed Thursday that Jinna Han and her mother, Jin of Mansfield, Massachusetts, were on the plane that crashed Wednesday night. Six skaters affiliated with the club were also on board, Doug Zeghibe, the club’s executive director and CEO, said in a press briefing on Thursday morning.

Jinna Han, who turned 13 last week, had a promising future as a skater, Zeghibe said. The club gave her props on Facebook in 2021 in a video showing her performing her first double axel.

She went on to win the club’s Blanchard Award for Most Improved Skater in 2024, according to the club’s website.

“Just a wonderful kid, wonderful parents, great athlete, great competitor, loved by all,” Zeghibe said when asked to describe her.

She was on the list of performers at the skating club’s annual benefit ice show, Ice Chips last April along with a cast that included medalists from the 2024 U.S. Championships.
