Overland Park farmers market to be complete spring 2026. See new name and renderings

Overland Park’s new farmers’ market now has a new name to go along with it.

After a months-long community engagement process, the City Council voted to name the area “Clock Tower Landing” — which encompasses the market, pavilion and community gathering spaces — during its meeting on Monday.

Construction for the $34 million project between Santa Fe Drive and Marty Street in downtown Overland Park began in December, and the city hopes it will be complete by late spring 2026.

In the meantime, the farmers’ market will operate in the Matt Ross Community Center parking lot ( 8101 Marty St.) for the 2025 season and the first few weeks of the 2026 season. The market will move over to the new building when it’s ready, Overland Park Director of Strategic Communications Meg Ralph told The Star in an email.

Project plans have been in the works for several years to make the needed improvements to the space Overland Park has outgrown. The outdoor pavilion area has seen increasing crowds each year since it was first built in 1991.

Once complete, the area will see permanent outdoor shade structures, additional seating, expanded restroom access and improvements to the Clock Tower Plaza. The area will also serve as a community gathering space for watch parties, concerts and future events in downtown Overland Park. The farmers market will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays during market season, and people can use its parking during non-market days.
