Olathe firefighters called to Monday morning blaze at duplex where one person died

Firefighters responded to a fatal fire in Olathe Monday morning at a duplex-style home, where officials said one adult has died.

The Olathe Fire Department posted about the incident on X Monday. The call, the department said, came in around 7:35 a.m. Damage to the home at 306 S. Kenwood St. is significant, the social media post said.

Police and Johnson County MED-ACT are assisting the fire department. Officials have not released details about the cause of the fire or the person who died.
