More Kansas City metro schools extend closure, virtual learning to Friday. See the list

Friday’s fresh rounds of snow flurries caused many more school districts in the Kansas City metro area to extend their closures into Friday, giving many students and staff a full week off of in-person instruction following the blizzard that swept through the area last weekend.

A record amount of snowfall blanketed the KC area last Saturday and Sunday, adding up to 11 inches at the Kansas City International Airport. A second, lighter round of snowfall blanketed the metro Thursday night.
