Some Kansas City metro schools extend virtual, snow days to Thursday. Check the list

Several school districts in the Kansas City metro have extended their closures and virtual days into Thursday, after a blizzard swept through the area over the weekend. Some are sighting unsafe residential roads, as snow plows continue to work on clearing roads.

A record amount of snowfall blanketed the metro on Saturday and Sunday, adding up to 11 inches at the Kansas City International Airport.

Below is the working list of schools that have canceled class for Thursday:

• Belton School District 124 will have a virtual day Thursday
• Blue Springs Schools will have a virtual day Thursday
• Center 58 Schools will have a virtual day Thursday
• Fort Osage School District will have a virtual day Thursday
• Grain Valley Schools will have a virtual day Thursday
• Grandview C-4 School District canceled class Thursday
• Guadalupe Charter Center Schools will have a virtual day Thursday
• Harrisonville-Cass Schools will have a virtual day Thursday
• Hickman Mills C-1 School District will have a virtual day Thursday
• Holden R-3 School District canceled class Thursday
• Independence School District canceled class Thursday
• Kansas City, Kansas Schools canceled class Thursday
• Kansas City Public Schools will have a virtual day Thursday
• Kauffman School will be closed Thursday
• Lee’s Summit Schools will have a virtual day Thursday
• Liberty Public Schools will have a virtual day Thursday
• North Kansas City Schools will have a virtual learning day Thursday
• Park Hill School District will have a virtual learning day Thursday

• Piper USD 203 canceled class Thursday

• Pleasant Hill R-III will have a virtual day Thursday
• Raymore-Peculiar School District will have a virtual day Thursday.
• Raytown C-2 School DIstrict will be closed Thursday and Friday
• Smithville School District will have a virtual day Thursday
