A pedestrian struck in a hit-and-run crash in Kansas City nearly two weeks ago has died.

Philip Castleberry, 46, was crossing from west to east on Troost Avenue near 82nd Terrace around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 10, when he was hit by a vehicle headed north on Troost Ave, according to Capt. Jake Becchina, spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department.

Castleberry was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but died Saturday at Research Medical Hospital.

Police are continuing to search for the driver and vehicle, and say the investigation is still active, according to Becchina.

The wreck marked the city’s 90th traffic fatality, compared to 100 this time in 2023.
