Part of Smithville Lake to be closed Saturday afternoon

The Missouri State Highway Patrol will close part of Smithville Lake for about an hour Saturday starting at 1:45 p.m. The closure to boaters will be on the Little Platte Arm from the Camp Branch Arm to about 4,000 feet to the north. Boats will be allowed to anchor outside the closed area during the Cameron Air Show. Authorities said the space is being protected to accommodate acrobatic flights over the water.
