Sobriety checks yield DUI arrests
Two sobriety checkpoints conducted overnight in Kansas City resulted in 16 arrests for driving under the influence and two narcotics arrests.
Kansas City Police and the Jackson County Sheriff’s office stopped 341 vehicles between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. at 10th and Charlotte and 13th and Pennsylvania.
In addition to the DUI arrests, authorities reported four hazardous moving violations and three other traffic violations. Three of the drivers were found to be operating without a valid license and two had no auto insurance.
Two persons were arrested on state warrants.
