Help us find Kansas City’s cutest cat by voting on these adorable pictures
It’s time to find the cutest cat in the Kansas City area.
After The Star received about 50 submissions of adorable furry friends, voting has begun in Round 1 of our cat contest. From Tuesday, Nov. 26, until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, you can vote on which 22 cats should advance to Round 2.
In addition to sharing some delightful photos with us, Kansas City area cat owners also shared tidbits about their cats’ origin stories and personalities. Among them:
- Bradley came to his owner from KC Pet Project. “He was a tiny little baby with his two brothers and the second I stepped into the area he crawled up my leg and he’s been with me ever since.”
- Bellatrix was rescued in Emporia in June before she found her new home. She wasn’t in great shape then, but she’s surprised her new family since. “She chirps more than meows, is soft as anything, and very interested in visitors, as long as they are human. We’re in love!”
- Rhett Butler “was a farm cat, who won the lottery and is now a pampered house cat.”
- Charlie was a little on the older side when he ended up in a shelter after his previous owner passed away, with one eye that didn’t work so well. Luckily, he found a new home. “He is a silly, goofy, sweet boy that enjoys reading the KC Star with us! Another reminder to not overlook the senior animals in shelters or ones with special needs.”
Star subscribers can vote as many times as they want in the poll to help their favorite cats advance. Note that there are three pages of cat photos, and you have hit submit at the end for your vote to count.
And remember: This poll isn’t scientific, just for fun!
