A Kansas City, Kansas, man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting Friday.

David Marcos, 25, is charged with second-degree murder in Wyandotte County District Court, according to online Wyandotte County Jail records.

Officers were called around 5 p.m. Nov. 8 to the area of Sixth Street and Splitlog Avenue on reports of a shooting. They found a man with a gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, police publicly identified the victim as Daniel Thurman, 21.

Police have not yet said what they believe led up to the shooting. Marcos was taken into custody Nov. 8 as detectives continued to investigate.

Marcos is being held on a $200,000 bond. No court dates have been scheduled as of Tuesday afternoon.
