A Blue Springs Chick-fil-A has reopened after it was reportedly hit by lightning over the weekend.

The Chick-fil-A location at 951 Northeast Coronado Drive had to close Saturday after staff said lightning struck the building, damaging equipment.

The store said employees were safe, but said the lightning strike damaged equipment needed to operate its drive-through. The store said its front counter could still take orders, and that it hoped to reopen its drive-through Monday afternoon.

“It was humbling at 10:50am this morning to have a line of raving fans waiting for us to open,” the store said in a Facebook post Monday morning. “This is what community is all about. Proud to be Blue Springs!”
