Far above Kansas City, condo in historic building has 360-degree balcony. See inside
Ever wanted to look over downtown Kansas City from your living room? This condo on sale puts you 31 stories above the city.
The 2,271-square-foot condo takes up the entire 31st floor at 909 Walnut St., according to real estate website Zillow. It’s on sale for $1.39 million by real estate agency Platinum Realty.
While the living space is relatively new to the city, renovated in 2011, the building has a long history in Kansas City.
At 35 stories, it’s one of the tallest buildings in the Midwest, originally built in 1931 as the Fidelity National Bank & Trust Building. It was purchased by the federal government in 1946 and renamed the Federal Office Building before being repurposed in 2000 to the apartments and condos you see now.
What’s inside the condo at 909 Walnut St.?
The condo is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom living space surrounded by a 360-degree balcony. One side of the balcony offers clear views of planes landing at the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport. The other side gives you an unobstructed view of downtown Kansas City.
You can access the condo using the elevators from the lobby. Once you’re inside, you see a bedroom immediately off the foyer that has several attachments built in, like a Murphy bed, wine locker and desk.
A short hall on the other side of the foyer takes you into a room with two conversation areas, a dining area and an open kitchen. The kitchen has high-end appliances, an espresso/cappuccino maker, a curved breakfast bar and a faucet that looks like a kinetic sculpture.
The headboard and nightstands in the primary suite are custom built-ins, as is a wet bar, sitting area, desk and walk-in closet. The master suite bathroom includes custom cabinetry, stonework, a walk-in shower and a whirlpool tub.
909 Walnut sits between River Market and the Power & Light District. Amenities included are a fitness center, resident lounge, a 24/7 on-site market and multiple outdoor spaces, including a rooftop garden that has won several awards.
