Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found floating in the Blue River Tuesday morning, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded around 10 a.m. to reports of a body floating in the river near Interstate 70 and Manchester Trafficway, said Sgt. Phil DiMartino with the Kansas City Police Department. Kansas City firefighters responded to the area to help pull the body from the river.

After the body was brought to shore, the man was declared dead, DiMartino said. The investigation into the man’s death is ongoing.
