Pop icon Taylor Swift attended the 40th annual MTV Video Music Awards Wednesday night, making an appearance while she awaits the results of her many nominations.

Swift’s attendance at the show went unconfirmed by MTV in the days leading up to this year’s Video Music Awards, but her imprint on the event has been huge nonetheless. Swift is up for 12 VMA awards tonight, according to The Associated Press, including Artist of the Year and Best Pop.

“Fortnight,” the megastar’s moody collaboration with Post Malone, is up for eight awards on its own, including Best Collaboration, Song of the Year and Video of the Year.

Swift went into the evening with 23 VMA awards, second only to Beyonce, who owns 25. She brought home nine awards last year.

If Swift wins eight of her nominations tonight, she will take the record for the most VMAs of all time.

Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, did not accompany her on tonight’s red carpet, where she wore a green tartan corset and black leather gloves. On Wednesday’s episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, the Chiefs tight end said he was rooting for Taylor to win several of her nominations.
