Children in the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ Sing It Out Choir Camp have been out of the heat and in the cool of the classroom where they have been making music under the direction of the church’s music director, Dr. Paul Griggsby. The week-long camp is designed to help teach children how to read music and improve their vocal and performance techniques. Campers have been practicing a selection of cowboy and western songs which they will perform at the church at 700 E. 110th Street in Kansas City at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 31. The event is free and open to the public.
