If you run out of ice cream cones or bug spray on Independence Day, here are the Kansas City-area grocery stores open on July 4.

Various grocery stores, including Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, and Lenexa, are open on Thursday in Missouri and Kansas.

Six grocery store chains have reduced hours on the Fourth of July:

• Costco (closed)

• Aldi (closes at 4 p.m.)

• Trader Joe’s (closes at 5 p.m.)

• Sam’s Club (closes at 6 p.m.)

• Whole Foods (closes at 6 p.m.)

• Hen House (closes at 8 p.m.)

These grocery stores are open in the Kansas City area on July 4. Some departments, like their delis and pharmacies, might be closed or operating on reduced schedules, so check with the store for exact hours.
