Two Kansas City area doughnut shops are the best in Kansas and Missouri, Yelp says
From cronuts to bear claws, the Kansas City area has many locations selling delicious doughnuts.
The next time you’re hungry for breakfast or just need a sweet treat, you could take a trip to what Yelp has dubbed the top doughnut shops in Kansas and Missouri. This year, both states’ favorites are in the Kansas City area.
The review site published their annual list of the best doughnut shops by state earlier this month. The restaurants were chosen based on their all-time Yelp rating, and all had passing health inspections.
Last year, no Kansas City area shops made the list, but Mr. D’s Donuts on the Kansas side was ranked in 2022 alongside the two Kansas City area shops listed this year.
Here are the best doughnuts in Kansas and Missouri for 2024.
Hana’s Donuts
2131 S. 34th St., Kansas City, Kansas
Since 2012, Hana Simcak has been making doughnuts at her shop in the Argentine neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas. Hana’s Donuts sells a large variety of confections, including fritters, bear claws, and unique flavors like red velvet and wedding cake.
Fresh Donuts
5557 N.W. Barry Road, Kansas City
Fresh Donuts fries up delicacies including a square-shaped version of the cronut — croissant plus doughnut. The family-owned shop has two locations: off of Northwest Barry Road and by the Legends in KCK. Yelp highlighted the Chiefs-themed doughnuts for sale during the football season.
