Eleven people, including four toddlers, were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Kansas City.

Officers responded to the wreck around 1:34 p.m. in the area of East 87th Street and Raytown Road, according to Sgt. Phillip DiMartino, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department.

A white GMC Acadia and a blue Chevy Malibu were traveling on Raytown at a high speed when they both left the road. The GMC rolled over, and the Chevy struck a tree.

Two toddlers were ejected from the Chevy, and two other toddlers were found inside the vehicle without proper child safety seats. One of the toddlers had life-threatening injuries, one had critical injuries and two had serious injuries.

The Chevy driver was critically injured. Police are investigating impairment as a factor in the crash.

An adult in the front passenger seat of the Chevy was critically injured, and a teenager in the back seat received injuries that were not life-threatening.

The four people in the GMC had injuries ranging from minor to serious.
