9-year-old girl killed, seven others injured in two-vehicle crash in Cass County

A 9-year-old girl died and seven others were injured after a crash Saturday in Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 2:40 p.m. on Missouri 7 highway at County Road 227th, according to a crash report.

A 2021 Kia Soul ran a stop sign and hit a 2019 Honda Pilot, causing the Honda to overturn twice before coming to a rest on its right side.

The 9-year-old girl from Raytown, who was a passenger in the Kia, was pronounced dead at a hospital at 3:45 p.m.

Two boys, ages 6 and 9, who were also in the Kia were taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, and the 50-year-old driver was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

A 14-year-old girl and an adult driver and passenger in the Honda were transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Another adult passenger was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
