Two new species are on display at the Kansas City Zoo, including small cats almost too cute even for the Internet.

Two African sand cats and two African fennec foxes are now on display near the lion exhibit at the zoo. The cats are adapted to the desert and have large ears to help them hear prey under the sand. The zoo gave these brothers classic cat names: Anubis and Osiris.

The two fennec foxes have even larger ears for the same purpose. They also help this smallest fox species regulate its temperature in the desert. The zoo calls these sisters Pink and Adele.

The cats and foxes are in exhibits that used to be occupied by meerkats. The three remaining meerkats, each more than 10 years old, were moved off public view, a zoo spokeswoman said. Another group of meerkats remains on display in the Discovery Barn.
